What we do

We source the liquid whey that’s the by- product from the manufacture of Italian cheeses, in particular from the world-famous PDO cheeses.

The industrial site in Cazzago San Martino, in the province of Brescia, is a modern state-of-the-art plant with advanced technology. The fresh whey collected from cheese-makers is analysed and checked before processing. Hygiene, food safety and the GFSI quality standards are guaranteed for all Serum Italia products.

Serum Italia produces whey powder, whey protein concentrates (WPC 80) for the food and beverage industries, for dairy and agri-food companies sport nutrition and wellness.

Raw material supply

We select and collect Italian whey in northern Italy, mainly in the Lombardia, Piemonte, Veneto and Emilia Romagna regions.

Receiving and storage

At Serum Italia we have 3 raw material receiving lines, each with a capacity of 60 tonnes per hour, and 5 feed lines for whey protein concentrate (liquid WPC), whey concentrate, cream and permeate concentrate.
